This could take a while, so I’ll be brief as possible… we visited –
Cite des Sciences – great fun!! you dont even realise youre at a museum. Lots of interactive things you can do!! Takes a good couple of hours to visit as is huge! There is a metro station practically at the entrance!
Notre Dame & Crypts – Free to go in – worth it because its really beautiful… amazing if you catch the bells as well!! I wouldnt really venture into the Crypts, its not all dark and spooky as I thought, just ruins of old houses underneath the street….
Pigalle Area (Erotic Museum) – We visited Pigalle (in the daytime) just to see the Moulin Rouge… not much to see really, just the famous windmill, so went into the Erotic museum – quite cheap to go in, and a lot of floors, but prefered the one on Damrak in Amsterdam…
Arc de Triomphe – possibly my favourite in Paris! When you come up from the metro station (etoile) and see it in front of you, it takes your breath away, and when you are standing underneath it…. really amazing! The view is great
Eiffel Tower – I went up at night – its quite scary being right at the top, and windy!!! But a must in Paris…
Louvre – You have to go in just to see the Mona Lisa, mind there isnt much of her to see – its very crowded there and there are barriers all around (no pics as i got reminded by a stern security) – Less crowds around Venus de Milo, and the Rooms of Henry V (?) are something else… unless you are a die hard art fan, choose the things you want to see then try a quick one round. I found it to be hot and tiring and very very BIG!!
Disneyland – you can get to Disneyland by catching the metro to Chatelet les Halles (sp?) then the RER A train to the last stop – Disney station (remember you NEED a RER ticket and retain it, as youll need it to get out the other end) – I dont think Disney needs any explaination!! Except it’s very very clean (no litter) and it snowed whilst we were there!! AMAZING!!
I would definately go back to Paris!
